Rio

I guess it is fair to say summer really started when we went to Brazil. For the first few days we stayed in a hotel literally on Ipanema beach. The hotel was probably a 3 star, but the position was unbeatable. We ate breakfast on the edge of the water every morning. Oh and yes some of girls do wear bikini’s that can only be describe as dental floss (of course my eyes were only for my beloved). On the way back we took stayed with a Friend and business colleague Rodrigo Weiss and his lovely wife.

Buzios

We then travelled up to resort town of Buzios about 2.5 hours north of Rio and made famous by Bridget Bardot in the 1960’s, this picturesque place is where the South American rich and wealthy come to holiday (that and Puente del Este in Uruguay). Fortunately for us it was pretty quiet and we spent 5 days snorkeling, paddling, driving converted VW buggies and eating – highly recommend it!

Blitz Week 2008

I'm home a few days now and starting to settle back into the reality of my commute to work and chilly mornings, but it's nice to be back too after a hectic 10 days in Cape Town, South Africa. All in all it was a great experience thanks to everyone I work with and I certainly learnt a lot along the way. The highlight of the week was getting out on site to see all the volunteers working on the houses. There was fantastic energy and camarderie among them as they worked along side locals in 30 degree heat.
