Blitz Week 2008
I'm home a few days now and starting to settle back into the reality of my commute to work and chilly mornings, but it's nice to be back too after a hectic 10 days in Cape Town, South Africa. All in all it was a great experience thanks to everyone I work with and I certainly learnt a lot along the way. The highlight of the week was getting out on site to see all the volunteers working on the houses. There was fantastic energy and camarderie among them as they worked along side locals in 30 degree heat. Apologies for the lack of photos, though you will catch a lot more of the blitz at: www.irishtownship.com (click on the image below to see pictures), Eils x

Skomara Digial Lab, Mombasa
I received this photo from my friend, Ali in Mombasa, Kenya. It made me feel so positive about the start of a New Year. Ali is currenytly based over in Mombasa, Kenya setting up the Digital Hub. This is the next phase of the Camara process. This digital hub will bring local employment and help bring sustainability to the distribution and maintenance of computers locally. It will also deal with another important part of the process which is recycling them. I was delighted to hear that all the people I had worked with in Mombasa were safe. Though the troubles over the past weeks have devasted so many peoples lives. It really drew home to me once again about how lucky we are... Looking forward to hearing more about the progress of Skomare in 08'
